Kookaburras fire at Duel in the Desert

The first women's footy games of the year were held on Saturday with the inaugural 'Duel in the Desert' tournament hosted by the Arizona Lady Hawks. With temperatures expected to rise into the triple digits it was an early start with games starting not long after 8.00am. At the event were the newly formed Denver Lady Bulldogs and the Atlanta Lady Kookaburras as well as the hosts of course the Lady Hawks, runners-up at last years Nationals in Louisville. read more »

Freedom Squad Training

The first of several Freedom Squad training and testing sessions for 2008 will take place Sunday June 1 at 9.00 am in Gilbert AZ morning following the Arizona Women's Footy tournament. All women players in the USA registered with the USAFL and members of their club (or in process of) are permitted to try out for the squad. (Contact your own club if you are uncertain of your own status)

There will be a similar sessions  to follow.

Freedom Jumper Auction Winner

On Saturday, October 13, the bidding for the US Freedom Jumper switched from online to a live auction.  The auction was emceed by Grilla and the jumper was modeled by national team captain Jenny Sarbacker and national team player Tina Arend.

The bidding started at $250 and it was apparent that two people would duel each other for the right to take home this historic jumper. read more »

Lady Kookaburras win third National Championship

The Atlanta Lady Kookaburras won their third successive USAFL National Championship title on Sunday defeating the Arizona Lady Hawks in Louisville Kentucky. The Lady Kookaburras came up against stiff opposition through out the pool games from the Milwaukee Lady Bombers, Arizona Lady Hawks and a combined team from Balt/Washington-Calgary, but were far too good and completed the weekend with their unbeaten run intact. read more »
