Cutting Edge is a small Flyball club,
formed in late 2002 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
by a close knit group of people that love our dogs
and share a passion for the Fastest and Funnest Dog Sport.
To get a better understanding of our club,
here is our Club Philosophy.

    • Our primary goal is to have fun with our dogs, family and friends.
We have just as much fun winning as losing so we might as well win,
But we don't want to win at the cost of enjoying the sport.
If anyone is unhappy, it is everyone's problem.

    • We are a competitive club that races with the three equal intentions:
      - Winning our division, or placing as highly as our abilities allow.
      - Improving on our best overall time.
      - Accumulating Flyball points by running clean.
But we do not put these goals above the health of our dogs
or our enjoyment of the sport.

    • We strive to be a role model for the Flyball racing community.
We race in the Mighty Region 5 (click here for the Region 5 website) ,
Without the help of so many others in our Region, we would not exist.
We look forward to returning the favor in any way we can.
We hope to have positive relationships with all other clubs.

    • We are a democracy, no one person owns the club
yet every one of us can say "This is my club".

    • Open communication is a right, if you have a problem, speak up.
Negotiation and Arbitration settles all disputes.
We are all grown up, opinionated, passionate people.

    • All dogs are treated equally, regardless of ability.
All dogs race if they are ready and able.
All dogs are given individual practice time.

    • We can always improve our dog's performance and our own racing ability.
We actively seek the help and advice of others in the Flyball community.
Learning from others, we continually add to our skill set.

    • Leaders are elected or selected to perform specific functions
and are allowed to perform those duties.
This does not make them immune to criticism.

    • Each racing team has a Team Captain.
The Team Captain decides which dogs race and
makes the final call on seed times.

    • Practices are conducted under the guidance of the
Training Coordinators in cooperation with the Team Captains.

    • Placement of dogs on teams is ultimately based on ability,
As judged by the Team Captains and Training Coordinators.
The dog's owner always has the final say.

    • Funding of club purchases is obtained in the following order:
      1) Voluntary contributions.
      2) Fund raising activities.
      3) Equal collection among all members, and only as a last resort.

    • Everyone pays their own way to tournaments.
Entry fees divided equally among the dogs that will be racing.

    • New members are only added to the club with a club vote,
Existing members always have the right to bring their own dogs into the club.
