This summary is being written in retrospect, after the conclusion of the 2003 racing season. Unfortunately, the Cyclone Flyers' first year of racing was not documented in the same way that our later years were documented. Because the website was not established until the 2003 racing season was underway, regular updates and records of team performance are not as plentiful, but it would be a glaring omission not to recognize the hard work put in by many people during the formative year of our club. The club's first tournament appearance took place on May 19th of 2002, in the Amana Colonies of Iowa, at a tournament hosted by Jammn' K9's. Three tournaments were attended by the club over the first season. At the third and final appearance of the season, at the Iowa Fly Dogs Tournament in Mason City, the inexperience of some of the dogs and the changes in the club's lineups took their toll. After Mason City, the club decided to regroup, hold off on competing for some months, and stepped up training efforts. The results have been seen in the 2003 season, and have been satisfying and rewarding. We'd like to salute those early members who worked hard, trained hard, and were persistent, allowing the club to grow to the great organization it is today. Thanks!
