The question:

Can someone clarify this for me please.... when we send in our tourney entries each dog has a handler name beside it. If during a tournament for some reason or another that "listed" handler can't run that dog can another handler "step in" and take over so to speak without breaking any rules? We have had various scenario's lately that this has happened and I am a bit concerned as I'm not real clear if this is something we could get called on or not.

Around here we do not send in our team roster with our entries. In fact no one sends out premium lists as far as I know. When there is a tourney scheduled we send in a letter with a payment for however many teams we are entering and their seed times. We do not put down team rosters until we fill in the time sheet at the tournament. Generally when I fill this out I enter the dogs name, breed etc and the owners name. At our last tourney I owned 3 of the 5 dogs on the team. I put my name down as handler on all three of them and I had others running two of them for me. In this case I had consistent handlers all weekend, but there have been times when I have had two or three people handle one dog for me in a weekend.

I really doubt this is something you will ever be called on. I know around here no one would even think twice if someone different handled the dog in each heat.
