Blur's racing history

Blur

Blur is a singles and pairs specialist.

On 24 May 2009,
the pairs team of Blur & Psyche broke their own all-time pairs record, running 7.472 in Memphis, Tennessee; they became the first pairs team to break 7.50 seconds (video).  The previous month, on 5 April 2009, they had run 7.55 seconds in Grove, Oklahoma, to break the all-time pairs record that had stood for over two years.  And the month before that, March 2009, Blur and Psyche had run 7.580, to become only the third pairs team in history to break 7.60.  They were also the fastest pairs team of 2008, from a 7.64-second run in November 2008 (link).

On 19 May 2007, Blur ran a singles time to 3.694, becoming only the second dog in history to break 3.70 in officially-sanctioned singles racing.   Then, on 15 September 2007, Blur broke the all-time singles record, running an official time of 3.655 seconds (yes, that includes the start).  There was much rejoicing.  Next, on 24 May 2008, Blur barely broke his record, running 3.653.  However, his record was broken by another dog the next day.

Blur has the reputation of being a bit of a handful in the racing lane, but at home he is a great pet.

Blur was featured as the dog of the month in the May 2008 issue of Inside Flyball online magazine.
