May 10-11, 2008 Infurno kept busy again at NET’s May tournament, sending four teams to Greenfield, MA. Rapid Fire, our Regular Division 1 team took 3rd place with a best time of 17.998. Running on this team were Border Collies Sobe, Folly & Token, with Indy & Tex as our height dogs. Fire Hazards, (f/k/a Fired Up, name changed to avoid confusion with a club called “All Fired Up”) ran in Regular Division 4 and took a 3rd place. Running on this team was Macy, Cheyenne and Kit, three mixed-breeds, and Benny, our 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Back-up was Dandy, who was brought in as relief for Kit in a few heats. This was Macy’s first time as Start Dog and she & Erin did great! Macy posted her personal best of 4.33, and Cheyenne also hit a new best time of 5.1! Fire Hazards had a TIE in one heat when racing Flyball Maineiacs Bring It, with both teams crossing the finish line at 22.01. Wild Fire, our Multi Division 1 team of Dandy, Bailey, Tex & Indy, placed 3rd with a best time of 18.89. Bailey the Golden Retriever had an awesome personal best of 4.44, and little JRT Tex hit a 5.3. Border Collie Dandy set a new record for his best time with a 3.962. Dandy ran sub-4 three times on Sunday, two being in his last race of the weekend. Wild Fire had a TIE in one heat when racing Jump Masters Born To Run, with both teams finishing at 19.341! Fire Starters ran in Multi Division 2 and took First Place! Ginger the Lab again ran as Start Dog, with the rest of the line-up being Benny, Aussie Dakota, and, alternating for the “Border Collie” spot, Token and Folly. Best time was 20.8. Everyone really pitched in to make this a fun tournament, so an extra thanks to all the non-racing family members as well! The weather was beautiful Saturday & Sunday, so crating outside under the EZ-Ups was awesome. We celebrated Mothers Day in our own way as well as the first birthday of Jenn & Richard’s son Finn. Theresa did a great job at the grill, and there was plenty of healthy food on the table to keep the human members of the team going. Another grand weekend of Food, Fun and FLYBALL! |
