Flyball

Cosmo

by Sheri Zamonski

Cosmo (Big River Cosmic Ray) is a Labrador Retriever owned by Mike and Sheri Zamonski. Cosmo has been playing Flyball since October 1996. He is a dog that has truly loved the sport from the first time that we introduced him to the box. It took him just two tries and by the third time he new exactly how it worked. When I (Sheri) would take him to my parents house he would run down to the basement and want to play with the box. When it was time to put the whole game together he ran like he played for years. He is a dog that can run with any dog, in any position, all he cares about is playing the game. Cosmo's average speed is 4.5 seconds, not to bad for an 80lb lab.

At the 1999 Summerspin (Tailspinner) Tournament he was chosen as the Most Valuable Dog. It's always such an honor when other people recognize your special dog. We will never forget the excitement when they announced that it was Cosmo

Cosmo has held the position of #1 Labrador since March of 1999. He is the first Labrador to reach 30,000 points. Cosmo is currently 5 years old and working toward 50,000 points.
