Flyball

Michelle Koon's Indy

by Pam Koons

Indy (Crystal's Catch Me If Ya Can HC, FG50K, NA, NAJ, DSA) has been playing flyball since 1996. He is currently the #2 Shetland Sheepdog and he is #4 of all breeds. He was ranked #1 in the year 2000, earning more points than any other dog. He has been an extremely reliable height dog and comes from a wonderful family of Shelties with flyball in their blood. His dad "Gunner" from Ballistics has always been a great inspiration and is one of the reason we fell in love with this breed. Indy has a multitude of talents, winning prizes for his many tricks (which includes jump roping), jumping his 14 in, twelve pound little body over a 40 in high jump, therapy work and entertaining kids of all ages. Indy is only five years old and if he stays healthy and strong, he should have a long career in a sport he loves. One of the biggest thrills we have ever experienced is when Indy was recognized with many of the greatest dogs and people in Flyball for the Maximum Overdrive's "All Century Flyball Team". It is one tournament we will remember always Being owned by Indy is a ton of fun and participating in this sport is terrific, if only Shelties came with an On/Off switch for their barking, life would be wonderful :-)
