Paws of Thunder had a stormy year in 2002, but we're back and ready to roll.

In NAFA - North American Flyball Association, Flyball dogs earn points for each correctly completed race. The number of points earned is determined by the time it took to finish the race.

Races completed in less than 32 seconds earn 1 point for each dog that ran.
Races completed in less than 28 seconds earn 5 points for each dog that ran.
Races completed in less than 24 seconds earn 25 point for each dog that ran.

The fastest teams are now running at just under 16 seconds. That's four dogs going 102 feet each! Now that's fast!

The dogs accumilate points toward individual Flyball titles

20 points = Flyball Dog (FD)
100 points = Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX)
500 points = Flyball Dog Champion
Several new titles have been added this year.
Titles are earned at 1000 points, 5000 points and on up. At 20,000 points dogs earn their ONYX title which is named after the first dog to receive this title. New records are being set every year as more tournaments are held and teams are competing with better trained dogs.
