When we first saw Zoya at the Mat-Su Animal Shelter, her eyes spoke loud and clear: "Please take me home, love me, and play flyball with me!" How could we refuse?! Zoya immediately fit right into our household; it was as if she had lived with us for years. Zoya was born around January 2006 and weighs in at a petite 26 pounds. An Embark DNA test in 2019 revealed that she is mostly husky, sheltie, and pug. Zoya is incredibly fast and agile, and she dares any dog to catch her. She is also sweet, affectionate, and quite the couch potato indoors. Based on how well Zoya did in her first obedience class, she could probably have a storied career in the obedience ring. However, we all agree (Zoya included) that flyball definitely trumps obedience when it comes to the fun factor. In 2017, Zoya ran on our regular team that won the CanAm Championships in Division 7. Her flyball PB is 4.437 seconds. Zoya lives with her "brother" Rugby and "sister" Pixel.
