About the artificial turf:

We have had a lot of questions and concerns about the artificial turf at the Quad City Dog Center. After running tournaments, we receive very positive reviews about running on it. Below is what the QC Dog Center has sent us about the turf.

We had no problems with dogs slipping and most people mentioned that their joints felt better at the end of a tournament than if they had run on mats. If you still have questions or concerns please let us know and we'll do our best to address them.

From QC Dog Center:

Our turf is Field Turf, the nation’s best selling sports turf, used by many NFL and college sports teams. A link to their website is below. There is no concrete beneath the turf. Instead, we have rolled earth, topped with about 6 inches of crushed stone and then topped with 2” of “fines”—pulverized crushed stone that is nearly the texture of concrete powder, way finer than sand. The “grass” itself is about 2” long, with very, very fine freeze dried rubber pellets blown in to support the blades of grass. It is very shock absorbing and good for dog and handler joints.
