What is Flyball?

Flyball started in California in the late 70's. The first flyball tournament was held in 1983. Flyball is a four dog relay race between competing teams. The flyball course is 51 feet in length and consists of 4 hurdles leading to a flyball box. The flyball box tosses a tennis ball at the dog after he/she pushes a pedal on the front of the box. Each dog must jump the 4 hurdles, retrieve a ball from the box, return over the hurdles and cross the finish line before the next dog can cross the start line. The first team to have all 4 dogs finish the course without error wins the heat.

Flyball is fast paced action with plently of excitement for dogs, handlers and spectators.
