Triad Dog Sports is hosts occasional Lure
Chasing Fun Days.  We do not have any scheduled
at this time.  Usually they run from 10:00 am to 3:00pm
at the practice field at Leonard Recreation Center: 6324 Ballinger Rd.
Greensboro, NC 27410. This is always open to ALL DOGS, ALL BREEDS
AND MIXES. Not just sight hounds. Everyone is invited.

General information about Lure Chasing Days:

This Lure Chasing Day is designed to let your dog chase a squawker,
which looks like a small animal and sounds like a
cross between a wounded duck and an irritated cat,
yowling and whimpering as it bounces down the field, dragged by a string.
Dogs instinctively want to chase it, and enjoy
catching it. Adult dogs will run 150 yards; puppies may
run any shorter  distance you specify. A club member will hold
your dog for the start. You will walk to the finish
(or the location where you want your puppy to stop),
so you can collect your dog. It is a good idea to yell and let
your dog know you are there waiting for it, as it
gives the dog confidence that it is running in
the right direction. Muzzles are not required. If your dog is
used to running in a muzzle, please use it, as it
saves wear and tear on the squawker.

Registration will begin at 10:00 in the parking lot.
The first dog will run as soon as we have five dogs lined
up ready to go, but no later than 10:30.
First dog, 2 runs for $5. Second and
subsequent dogs in the same household, 2 runs for $2.
There will not be a Lunch break. Fast food is
available within a couple of miles of the field.
or you can bring your own. Bring water
for your dogs, as there is no running water at
the field. There are bathrooms in the recreation center.

The field is at the Leonard Recreation Center, about
three miles north from Exit 213, Guilford College Road,
off I-40. From this exit take Guilford College road
toward Guilford College. Go straight thru the
intersections at Market St. and Friendly Ave.
You will pass Guilford College on your right.
Turn Left onto Ballinger road. There is a left
turn lane and a fire station at the intersection.
The Rec center is a little ways down the
road on the right. The golf course is on the left.
