| EPISODE 4 - tug of war and more... Devistated with the loss of 2 more of their own, the remaining
dogs of Fellowship of the Fur returned
to their campsite to enjoy an evening meal of Canidae
kibble. "I can't believe you all voted off Travis!"
              growled Callie, "don't you know
how strong a player he is?" "The other pack knew his weakness..."
              answered Brody, "How did they
figure out he couldn't resist a thrown stick?" "Stop staring at me like that everyone!" said a frustrated
              Scarlett at camp F.A.S.T.
              as they shampooed with Athlete
Gift Funky Flea Shampoo, "I didn't ask Wichita
to join me in my nap. He did that all on his own!" Spuds
came to Scarlette's rescue, "Scarlett can't help it if she's
an irresistable super model." The next morning, the two tribes met at the challenge beach where
host Dillon explained their next challenge.
"We are having a tug of war. Each tribe will gather on either
side of this stream. When I say go, dogs will begin tugging. The
tribe with all 5 members in the water is out, and the dry tribe
will be the winner. Survivors ready........ go!" The two tribes began tugging with all their might on either end
of the rope. F.A.S.T. seemed to have
the early advantage with their bigger dogs. "That's right!"
              shouted Sedona, "you Fellowship
bitches are going for a swim! Party! Party! Party!" Heidi surprised everyone on the Fellowship
by her bizarre tugging technique. "She was facing backwards!
I had no idea what she was trying to do." explained Callie.
"That Heidi is a strange puppy." Murphy
(who was dangling mid-air), barked at Heidi to try and get her back
in line, but Heidi just said "Trust me, you mutts! I know what
I'm doing!" On the F.A.S.T. side of the stream,
Spuds seemed to be having a difficult time concentrating. "Dude
what is your problem?" asked Shiner.
"That Heidi, she keeps shaking her tail at me like she used
to when we raced flyball together." explained Spuds. "I
am having a hard time focusing on tugging! She looks like a bunny!"
Heidi then released the tug on her end and ran away from the challenge
and into the forest. Spuds, unable to control his prey drive any
longer, dropped the tug, ran through the stream, and off after Heidi
into the trees as fast as he could. "What's gotten into him?"
              asked Doodle. "Excellent thinking!"
Cheered Murphy (still dangling mid-air). "Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug!
Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug!" shouted Devo. Advantage switched to Fellowship of the Fur
as the F.A.S.T. dogs tried to recover
from losing Spuds and his strong tugging skills. "Tug! Tug!
Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug! Tug!" shouted Devo.
Murphy jumped off the tug to bark at her teammates "Keep on
Tugging! Devo, kill that rope! Brody, put your back into it! Callie,
the F.A.S.T. dogs think you look like
Lassie! Now TTTUUUGGG!!!" She then grabbed the tuggy and dangled
again. "We need to do something guys!" exclaimed Scarlett. Doodle
let go of the tug and ran to the edge of the stream. "Hey everyone!
I'm Timmy and I just fell in a well! When is Lassie going to get
here and rescue me? Oh look! The Fellowship
has Little Lassie right there!!" Callie dropped the tug and
lunged through the stream at Doodle, pulling him into the watter
by his cotton-ball tail and ruining his hairdo. The tug swing left and right and back and forth violently, causing
Murphy to lose her grip and fly through the air into the stream.
Devo gave the rope a big shake, and flung slobber into Brody's eyes,
causing him to lose his grip and stagger into the stream. The sight
of Murphy, Brody, Callie and Doodle in the water was all Sedona
could take. "POOL PARTY!!" she shouted and launched into
the stream, sending a tidol wave splash onto the shore, drenching
Scarlett, who had to release the tug and shake herself, then stretch
out on the sand to dry. Host Dillon watched in dismay as Shiner
and Devo tugged long into the night. Heidi and Spuds returned to
the challenge area looking exhausted. "That Spuds is a wild-dog!
I will never underestimate him again!" she told the other girls.
The dogs on both tribes had a meal of Whole
              Life Pet Food and Barn
Buddy Buscuits, while watching Devo and Shiner continue
to tug. Several hours later, Dillon called
an end to the challenge. "Those two will tug themselves to
death if I let them!" remarked Dillon.
"We'll call this a tie, and both tribes will have to go to
tribal counsel." In the end, Callie and Heidi were voted off Fellowship
of the Fur and Scarlett and Spuds for F.A.S.T.
Wichita made sure he got a good-bye kiss from Scarlett before
leaving the island. "Have a good nights sleep dogs, but don't
get too comfortable! Tomorrow morning there will be a big surprise!"
Said Dillon. The Fellowship dogs returned to their
campsite and curled up in their custom made Pet
Bedzzz, excited about the surprise they would receive
tomorrow. "I hope it's cookies," said Brody, "yummy
              ones like the kind Cloudstar
makes!" Brody, Murphy and Devo enjoyed dreams of cookies. At camp F.A.S.T. Doodle pranced around
like a king. "I'm the most beautiful dog on the island."
he bragged, "That Scarlett thought she was hot... but who's
hot now, baby?? ME!" ...the next day... The dogs from the two tribes met at Challenge beach to see what
their surprise would be. Dillon announced,
"Today the two tribes will merge to form one big tribe. Here's
a map to your new campsite. You need to go there and form your new
tribe. Your final task is to come up with your new tribe name." The dogs sped off to their new campsite. "Wow! A merge! This
is way too cool! Party! Party! Party!" shouted Sedona as she
bounded off in the direction of the new camp. The dogs set up camp quickly and settled down to discuss the new
tribe name over snacks from Zukes.
Murphy suggested 'Scary Hairys' because the previous tribe names
had something to do with hair, and because all 6 of the remining
dogs have proven themselves to be scary. Devo stopped running in
circles around the campsite long enough to suggest 'Turds of Steel'.
Conversation heated up with Doodle made his long list of suggestions. "That Doodle thought he was the king of the camp! He had a
long proclaimation about how his name suggestions were the best
because he is so much prettier than all of us." explained Sedona.
Doodle was shocked that nobody agreed to call the new tribe 'Survival
of the Furriest' because he was obviously the furriest, or 'Bark-a-Doodle-do'.
He was especially sad when everyone gave big thumbs-down to the
name 'Poodle Power'. Finally the 6 dogs agreed to Shiner's suggestion S.L.A.M.
or Survivors Lasting After the Merger.
The dogs were happily painting their new tribe flag when Dillon
approached. Devo stopped running in circles after his tail and announced,
"If this is our FINAL task, does that mean we are going home?"
             Dillon responded,"you all know
that this weekend is the big tournament? Surviving a flyball tournament
in August is the ultimate test for survivor dogs. At this tournament
your family and friends will get to vote on which of you 6 will
be the ultimate Survivor and will win the prize of 1 million dog
bones. Are you up for the challenge?" ... |
