SEPTEMBER 7, 2003 - LAKE ELMO, MN - The Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club ended their fiscal year 2003 season at Animal Inn's Fly-Inn Tournament this past weekend. Here are the Saturday results from the Animal Inn Tournament: Cutter - 331 points Digit - 331 points Dakota - 306 points Halley - 231 points Bailey - 100 points Buddy - 25 points The team placed 4th in division 3 on Saturday. Here are the Sunday results: Cutter - 455 points Dakota - 455 points Digit - 355 points Bailey - 330 points Dander - 125 points Halley - 100 points The team placed 3rd in division 4 on Sunday. Special congrats to two of our dogs, Dakota and Digit. They both received their Flyball Master (FM) title over the weekend! We're already anticipating our fiscal year 2004 opener at TCOTC the weekend of October 11th and 12th! Special thanks to the Gateway Flyball Club for so generously helping us out during the tournament. Thanks to everyone on the team for a GREAT 2003 season! AUGUST 17, 2003 - AMANA, IA - The Cyclone Flyers are proud to announce another great performance at the Jammn' K9's Tournament in the Amana Colonies this past weekend! Here are the results from Saturday/Sunday regular racing: Cutter - 942 points Digit - 942 points Halley - 942 points Bailey - 676 points Dander - 266 points The team placed 4th in a very competitive Divison 2 this weekend! Nice job! Special congrats this weekend to Dander and her owner Kim! After a lot of hard work, Dander earned her first two titles, Flyball Dog (FD) and Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX)! Very nice for her first tournament competition appearance! Thank you to all dogs, handlers, and our wonderful "support staff" who make every appearance a success! We are already preparing for our next tournament in Lake Elmo, Minnesota at Animal Inn on September 6th and 7th! AUGUST 3, 2003 - ALBERT LEA, MN - The Cyclone Flyers had another exciting weekend of racing this past weekend at the Iowa Fly Dogs' Ball-a-pa-looza Tournament. Here are the results from Friday Multi-Breed Racing: Bailey - 38 points Cutter - 38 points Saige - 32 points Tye - 32 points Buddy - 12 points The team placed 5th in Divison 2 Multibreed Friday Night. Here are the results from Saturday regular racing: Digit - 407 points Cutter - 357 points Dakota - 327 points Halley - 301 points Bailey - 181 points Buddy - 55 points The team placed 1st in Divison 2 on Saturday! Way to go! Of special note on Saturday, our team speed record was broken twice! First, at 19.74 by Cutter, Dakota, Digit, and Halley, and then at 19.13 by Cutter, Dakota, Digit, and Halley! Nice job! Here are the results from Sunday regular racing: Cutter - 328 points Dakota - 328 points Digit - 328 points Bailey - 327 points Saige - 1 point The team placed 5th in Division 2 on Sunday. Of special note on Sunday, Bailey the American Eskimo earned his Flyball Master (FM) title, passing the 5000 point mark! Congrats! JULY 20, 2003 - MADISON, WI - The Cyclone Flyers placed 2nd in the 8th division of the Hitsquad Flyball at the Fairgrounds Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin. It was a fun and competitive two days of racing for everyone involved. In our regular racing appearance, here were the results: Cutter - 612 points Dakota - 612 points Bailey - 512 points Digit - 477 points Buddy - 185 points Halley - 50 points Special congratulations are in order for: Cutter, who earned his Flyball Master (FM) title on Saturday. Buddy, who earned his Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh) title on Saturday. Bailey, who is now the number 6 Eskie in the US and Canada! Thanks to everyone who joined us for racing in Madison, and especially Angelic for doing a great job of captaining this weekend! Our next appearance will be on August 1st-3rd in Albert Lea, MN at the Iowa Fly Dogs Tournament. We will be racing both Multibreed Friday, and Regular Saturday and Sunday. JULY 13, 2003 - AMANA, IA - The Cyclone Flyers had a great time at the Hawkeye Hustlers' July Summer Toss Tournament in the Amana Colonies! During this tournament, the team made its first ever multi-breed showing. After a lot of hard work with new dogs and experienced dogs in the lineup, the team placed 4th of 4 teams in Multibreed Division 2. On Friday Night's Multibreed set, the point totals were: Bailey - 130 points Cutter - 130 points Shadow - 130 points Saige - 95 points Tye - 25 points Buddy - 10 points Special congrats on Friday Night to Shadow! Not only did he make a triumphant return to racing after being out for many months, but he also moved on to the top Doberman breed list! (#100!) During two-day regular tournament action, the Cyclone Flyers placed 3rd in Division 3! Here are the results from the regular racing on Saturday and Sunday: Dakota - 855 points Digit - 855 points Cutter - 705 points Bailey - 475 points Buddy - 330 points Saige - 200 points Special congrats on Saturday and Sunday to the team of Bailey, Digit, Cutter, and Dakota. These four dogs set a new club speed record of 20.200 seconds! Also, over the weekend, Saige the English Setter earned her first two titles, Flyball Dog and Flyball Dog Excellent, and moved to number 3 on the English Setter breed list! Also, a big thanks to Angelic and Theresa and everyone involved with making the Cyclone Flyers' raffle at the tournament a complete success! We're catching a quick rest this week and looking forward to our next appearance at Hitsquad's Flyball at the Fairgrounds tournament in Madison, Wisconsin at the Alliant Energy Center at the Dane County Fair! We will be racing Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th. And, look here for the results the Monday night after the tournament! JULY 6, 2003 - ST. LOUIS, MO - Another great performance was turned in by members of the Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club at their second appearance at Queeny Park in St. Louis over the 4th of July Holiday weekend! Here is an unofficial summary of the points earned individually by our dogs over the entire weekend... Dakota - 677 points Digit - 677 points Halley - 600 points Kacy - 507 points Buddy - 147 points Tye - 100 points The team placed 4th on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday in Divison 3! Congrats! Special Congratulations to Buddy this weekend, as he racked up enough points to earn his first TWO titles... FD (Flyball Dog) and FDX (Flyball Dog Excellent)! Buddy has really come through and come along way, and we're looking forward to his (and our team's) four-breed debut at our next tournament. Our next appearance will be at the Hawkeye Hustlers Tournament at Amana on July 11th thru 13th. We'll be there for four-breed AND regular action. And don't forget to check out our raffle that weekend! JUNE 15, 2003 - ST. LOUIS, MO - The Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club had a great time at Gateway's Summer Chill 2003 Tournament in St. Louis this past weekend. Here is a summary of the individual points and team placing earned over the two-day event: On Saturday the 14th: Cutter - 405 points Digit - 405 points Halley - 405 points Dakota - 280 points Bailey - 125 points The team earned 3rd place in division 4 on Saturday. On Sunday the 15th: Cutter - 480 points Digit - 405 points Bailey - 380 points Dakota - 380 points Halley - 275 points The team earned 4th place in division 4 on Sunday. There were many special achievements over the weekend at St. Louis. Halley, after many years of hard work, earned her Flyball Master Excellent (FMX) title, after passing the 10000 point mark! Digit made her first appearance on the Cyclone Flyers, and earned her first three titles: FD, FDX, and FDCH, all this weekend! Bailey moved up to 9th place on the American Eskimo breed list (pending updates on the official NAFA list) And, last but not least, the team logged a new team fastest time record at 20.855 seconds. Way to go everyone! Thanks to everyone who helped out at the tournament, and thanks to Gateway for hosting an excellent tournament. Our next tournament appearance will be in St. Louis again July 5th and 6th! MAY 18, 2003 - AMANA COLONIES, IA - Another great weekend of racing was turned in by the Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club at the Jammn' K9s "Dogs Are Out For Summer" Tournament. On Saturday the 17th, the dog point totals were as follows: Kacy - 375 points Bailey - 325 points Dakota - 275 points Cutter - 275 points Halley - 175 points Tye - 175 points Overall, the team placed second in division six on Saturday. On Sunday the 18th, the dog point totals were as follows: Bailey - 375 points Kacy - 375 points Cutter - 300 points Dakota - 275 points Halley - 175 points Overall, the team placed fourth in division six on Saturday. Of special note, both Tye and Dakota earned their third titles, Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh) by passing the five hundred point mark. Thank you to everyone for their particpation, and thank you to the Jammn' K9s Flyball Club for hosting a very fun tournament. The Cyclone Flyers will next appear at Gateway Flyball Club's Summer Chill 2003 Tournament in St. Louis on June 14th and 15th. We're looking forward to it! MAY 11, 2003 - JEFFERSON, WI - The Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club competed in the DART "May The Fur Fly" tournament on Mother's Day, and made another excellent showing! Out team placed fourth in the fifth division during Sunday racing! Well done everyone! In our one day appearance, Bailey and Dakota scored 290 points! Also, Cutter earned 280 points, Halley received 150 points, Tye earned 140 points, and Kacy received 10 points. Special congrats again to Theresa's 'excellent' Border Collie Dakota on earning her Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX) title! Thank you to everyone who helped make another excellent appearance possible, especially Pam and Jess from ToughSpun for their extra guidance. We're already looking forward to our next appearance at the Jammn' K9's 3rd Annual Dogs Are Out For Summer Tournament May 17th and 18th! We will be racing Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. APRIL 27, 2003 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Cyclone Flyers Flyball Club is proud to announce another excellent showing at our tournament appearance at the First Annual High Velocity Flyball Tournament at the Twin Cities Obedience and Training Center in Minneapolis! Our team placed second in the Fourth Division on Saturday and first in the Fourth Division on Sunday. Well done, especially considering how tough and competitive our division was both days. On Saturday, our team of Halley, Cutter, Bailey, and Kacy posted a new club best time record of 21.069 seconds, besting our previous club record of 21.94 seconds. We are pleased to note, too, that Theresa's Border Collie, Dakota, earned her first title, Flyball Dog (FD), and scored 50 points! Other individual results from Minnneapolis: Bailey (American Eskimo), Halley (Border Collie), and Kacy (Border Collie) all turned in a great two days of racing, earning 425 points on Saturday and an additional 525 points on Sunday for a total of 950 points over the weekend! Also, barring any additional unpublished results from other dogs, Bailey moved into the Top 10 of the American Eskimo Breed List with his performance in Minneapolis! Finally, Cutter (Blue Merle Border Collie) added an additional 375 points on Saturday and 525 points on Sunday for a grand weekend total of 900 points! A special "Thank you!" to all the good folks from the Jammn' K9s Flyball Club for their valuable assistance during the tournament. And, thank you to High Velocity for hosting an excellent tournament. Great job, all dogs and handlers! We are already looking forward to our next tournament appearance: DART's May 11th tournament (Sunday Only) at Jefferson, Wisconsin. APRIL 13, 2003 - OMAHA, NE - The Cyclone Flyers had another great showing on April 12th at the Omaha 4-Play ELF Tournament. As a team, we placed fifth in the Fourth Division. Well done everyone! Here are some of the individual highlights from the Omaha Tournament: BAILEY (American Eskimo), CUTTER (Blue Merle Border Collie), and KACY (Border Collie) all racked up 291 points in our one day appearance. HALLEY (Border Collie) earned another 200 points. TYE (Blue Merle Aussie) moved another 91 points toward another title. A big THANK YOU to Angelic for doing a great job as team captain at Omaha in Lynette's absence. Also, THANK YOU to Theresa and Steve for their assistance in this successful appearance! And, of course, Thanks to the Omaha 4-Play Flyball Club for putting on an excellent tournament, with great competition! We're already looking forward to our next appearance at the High Velocity Tournament coming up April 26th and 27th in Minneapolis! BAILEY our American Eskimo. He earned two titles at the MT Tournament, Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX) and Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh). CUTTER our Blue Merle Border Collie. He earned one title at the MT Tournament, Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh). HALLEY one of our hard-working Border Collies. She keeps on trucking, and even though she didn't add a title this weekend, she is fast approaching the 10,000 point mark! KACY our other hard-working Border Collie. She earned two titles during her performance this weekend, Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX) and Flyball Dog Champion (FDCh). TYE our Blue Merle Aussie, gets Special Congratulations! Tye came through for us big time, earning his first two titles, Flyball Dog (FD) and Flyball Dog Excellent (FDX). Tye has come a long way, and we are very proud of him. Unfortunately, it is a bittersweet moment, as Tye will be moving soon to Hawaii, and we will miss him, but he will always be a member of the Cyclone Flyers in our book! Three cheers for all the handlers: Angie, Angelic, Steve, Lynette (our captain), and me, I guess too (why not?). Also, a big thank you to our team members, Rachel and Donnie.
