2 Fast 2 Furry ~ Tampa, FL

Great tournament, lots of space to crate.  We had a great time.

We debuted our new Division 1 team, Tsunami and welcomed back to the team Kathy McKenny with Rue, Bandit, and Sunny.  Although we fell short of our speed goal it didn't matter because we had fun gettin' our butts kicked LOL!  It was a real thrill to watch FAX run as fast as they did, placing First over the long time Region 11, Division 1 Champs, Ketch!

Scram picked up his FM! So far he is the youngest Waverunner to do so and in the shortest time.  A big congratulations to Ayla who also earned her FM!  This was a special title for her owner, Stacy, because her first dog, Astro, the Waverunners' first height dog, unfortunately lost his battle and died just short of receiving her FM so it was an emotional title for everyone!

p.s. Oh and we also welcomed a new boxloader

to our ranks.  Meet Marishka from Russia -->

So, here's to broken picnic tables, flying teeth and french downs!

With this latest FAX tournament we officially welcomed to the team Myo, Harley, and Joey.  We took home 2nd place in Div 2 on Saturday and a Fourth in Div 2 and a 3rd in Multi Breed on Sunday.  The most exciting news is that we dipped into the 19's on Saturday.  19.87 to be exact.  That is a personal team best!  We look to improve on that in the future!  The divisions are sure becoming competitive.  Division 2 used to be a seed time around 21's.  Now it starts in the 19's!

We missed our Teammate Kathy McKenny who was home recuperating from brain surgery.  Get well soon MCKATHY!

WoooHoooo!  Another great tourney put on by Florida Air Express. Lots happened.  Digger and Jake both put in a great showing and ran all day.  They both earned their FDCh titles and Loki finally caught those elusive 125 points he needed for his FMX.  This was the first time we ran Loki, Ayla, Scram, Digger and Jake as a team and had no idea what kind of times they would put in but we actually broke out three times with the best time being 20.8 (21.1 was the breakout time).  We therefore went from first to last place! (Breaking out takes you out of the running for first place and you receive last place automatically.)  But it was worth it to see our Belgian/Aussie team run and put in such great times for their first time as a team with three or four unseasoned dogs made us all very happy.  A big Thank you goes to Kathy McKenny for coming to the tournament to help our short-handed team.

Our team captain's hair color finally caught up with her behavior for the last couple of weeks and became blonde for the day. (insert evil laugh here) Neil and Tori, his wife, brought in blonde wigs for all of us to wear along with name badges with our names proceeded by "Blonde Chick Teammate".  Stacy was in the captain's meeting and when she came out her team had turned blonde.

It was great for a laugh and we have pictures to prove that no one on the team made a very decent blonde except for Tori.  Of course the long side burns on Jordan and the mustache on Neil just didn't help.

Pictures will be added to the gallery soon.  That is of course unless my teammates respond to blackmail.

March/2004

The Waverunners Flyball Racing Team is proud to announce the return of former teammates Kathy McKenny and Kay Atkins and welcome their Dogs Gone Bad teammate Tracy Hadley to the Waverunner crew.

Raiders of the Lost Bark hosted their first tournament prior to their first birthday as a team! You guys have come together as a great team and you put on a great tournament.  Here's to you!

February 7 & 8, 2004

Just back from another FAX tourney.  Pirate Invasion in Lakeland, FL.  We had a blast. Those FAX girls always put on a killer tourney!  Our team set a personal best time of 20.1.  In fact the team ran in the 20's all day Saturday and in the last race of the day on Sunday put in a 20.3! Thanks to Too Hot to Handle and Dogs Gone Bad for helping us when we were short handed.  You guys are great!

Digger and Jake (okay, Jordan...)  I mean... Jake and Digger (we have to humor him Neil) both earned their FDX titles.  Those boys did us proud!  Look out world they are on their way!

Haley earned her FMX... Thats 10,000 points!  She is just visiting for a while til her team is ready to run.  So it's nice that she was able to earn a point or two and her next title while she was running with the Waverunners.

Jan 17 & 18, 2004

Too Hot To Handle's annual tournament brought enough points to Digger to earn his FD.  Yahooo!  Digger... Scrammy is very proud of his brother.  Neil, Digger's Dad helped out alot by running Scram when his Mom was busy with Scram's brother Loki.  Thanks Neil and Thanks Digger for sharin' your Dad.

Waverunners brought home a 1st place trophy for Multi Breed.

Jan, 2004, Jake earned his FD at the FAX tournament in Lakeland, FL .

Good Goin Jake!

Jordan, Jake's Dad, did a great job boxloading for the team.  Thanks Jordan!

12-13-03 - IT'S OFFICIAL!! WAVERUNNERS IS THE 2003 REGION 11 MULTI-BREED CHAMPIONS!

OUR BOY ASTRO WAS NAMED THE 2003 REGION 11 MVP

We just returned from a flyball tournament in Tampa.  Digger, Jake and Scrammy were supposed to debut.  They are our aussie connection!  Well as it turns out Digger's dad had pressing matters to deal with at home and couldn't go.  Jake is very new to flyball and has been doing a good job at practice but the goofy boy just didn't understand why all those dogs were in one place and not one of them wanted to play with him! So although Jake had fun trying to meet new dogs and make new friends, he just wasn't interested in playing flyball.  So he will try again in two weeks with Digger at Florida Air Express' Tournament in Lakeland, FL.

Scrammy earned his FD and FDX titles and ran error free all day long.  Not one mistake from him.  His Mom was extremely impressed and surprised being it was his very first tournament!  Woooohoooo!

Our Tropic 2003 Tournament held in November went off without a hitch!  Thanks to all the great flyballers who helped out at the table or put their butts in the judging chairs.  Without you we couldn't have had such a successful tournament.

Congratulations to Harli from Too Hot to Handle on winning the Astro Height Dog with a Heart Award. This was the first time this award has been doled out and the trophy was made so we could give it out at this tournament.  Astro was Stacy's Dog who passed away this year.  He had such heart that it was only appropriate that the award be named after him.  Heck... without him, we wouldn't have had the award.

Also big congratulations goes out to Raiders of the Lost Bark, the new kids on the block, for earning the good sportsmanship award.  Wherever you looked you could see one of the members of that team helping out in some fashion.  Dana, you should be proud of your team!

And last but not least, we send two big You Go Girls! to Ebba for earning her FM and Bri for earning her FDX.

We just returned from a tournament in Lakeland, FL hosted by the awesome gals of Florida Air Express! Our dogs earned lots of titles.  Ayla earned her FDCh, Hiedi earned her FM, Loki earned his FM and Raina earned her FMX, a first for the Waverunners crew.

On Saturday the team earned a 2nd place ribbon in regular racing and a 1st place in Multi Breed. On Sunday the team earned a 2nd place ribbon in each division.

We had a great time and had lots and lots of racing.  Thanks once again FAX!

KETCH's tournament was this past weekend (July 4,5,6,2003) where Freckles earned her FM!  Good goin' Freckies!.

We just returned from another trip to Lakeland, FL (June 7 & 8, 2003).  WOW is the best way to describe it.  We ended up running in Div 3 and we had our work cut out for us by the team of Dog>Gone!  They took us by surprise. Wow, have they come together as a team.  It came down to a tie for first place between their team and ours.  Congrats to Dog>Gone for their first place win!

In Multi-Breed we were tied for first place with Dogs Gone Bad.  They were our crating mates so I am happy to say that we won. LOLOL we deserved it after what you guys did to Elvis!  :)~  But I have to say our last two races against each other were nothing less than nail bitingly excruciating.  The races that are won and lost by tenths of seconds are just the best!  You guys pulled out the win in those races, congrats on races well earned.

We put out our personal best time of 20.98 seconds this weekend. The line up was Raina (GSD), Freckles (Aussie), Loki (Mal), & Heidi (JRT) That was exciting as well.  All our dogs are between titles so no new titles were earned.

We will see you all in July in Tampa!

Waverunners just returned from Lakeland, FL (February 8 & 9, 2003) where we participated in the Pirates Invasion 2003 tourney hosted by Florida Air Express  Flyball Team.

On Saturday, Dylan, our most veteran competitor, earned his FDCh title.  This is a milestone for Dylan as he has been working long and hard to get this title and he is a 9 1/2 year old dog!  Atta boy Dilly Dog!

Waverunners won the 1st place ribbon (Div. 2) at this tournament.  Boy we sure are coming together as a team... two first places in a row! We sure are proud!

Waverunners' next tournament will be Florida Air Express' tournament in Lakeland, Florida in June/2003.

Waverunners competed at the Turn Up The Heat Tournament in Sunrise, Florida on 1/18/03 & 1/19/03 hosted by Too Hot Too Handle Flyball Team.

Although the weather was extremely cold on Saturday we managed to capture a fourth place win in Division 2 and a third place in Multi-breed.  I think the dogs were just running to keep warm <G>.

But the biggest news for Waverunners is that we captured the 1st Place trophy on Sunday in Division 2.  We are very proud of this placement as we have been in a re-organization mode for some months now and it has paid off. The team consisted of Raina, Loki, Freckles, Ebba, Huey and Heidi.

We are especially proud of Heidi, our little jack girl. She has been training for a few months now and we were just hoping to get some nice runs from her in warm ups.  Not only did we get nice runs, we got perfect ones. So we threw the crazy girl in the line up. In a day and a half of racing Heidi earned her FD, FDX and FDCH titles!  WAY TO GO HEIDI!

Jewel, Huey and Loki also earned their FDCH titles.
